Ocular Therapeutix, Inc Trade & Distribution - Manager / Sr Manager in Bedford, Massachusetts
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and detailed-oriented individual to join our growing, fast-paced team. This is a highly visible role requiring an understanding of customer and distribution relationships, while meeting regulations and industry standards for shipping specialty pharmaceuticals. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated success in improving, optimizing and scaling supply chain capabilities across the organization. S/he will educate others on the process and have the confidence and credibility to partner with all levels of the organization.
Collaborate and work cross functionally with different departments and groups for the purpose of leading logistics and trade activities, including those conducted in-house and by 3PLs and Distributors.
Manage the communication of product related information to 3PL, trade, specialty pharmacy and wholesalers.
Evaluate and enhance logistics and distribution strategy and business processes for our products.
Ensure appropriate negotiations for distribution, data, and service contracts to ensure targeted market penetration, market availability, adherence to key targets and patient needs are met.
Proactively manage supply risks including development of appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
Work closely with Commercial Ops, Finance, and maintain an overview of product serialization and our 3PL tracking systems.
Establish key metrics for Distributors and hold them accountable through regular business reviews.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as, U.S. healthcare laws and regulations.
Familiar with market demand scenarios and translation into supply requirements and associated inventory scheduling.
Meet business requirements and standard operating procedures for all trade vendors including drafting enhancements as needed.
Ability to understand lead time requirement from manufacturing partners and translate product demand into rolling and binding forecasts.
Support needs of the organization, bridge franchise demand with manufacturing supply options which includes sophisticated CMO constraints and relationships.
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience using the high levels of integrity.
Demonstrated logistics and/or supply chain experience preferably with Drug Substance (DS), Drug Product (DP) packaging for clinical and commercial products.
Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and CMOs required.
Experience working with inventory and ERP systems, QAD experience a plus.
In-depth knowledge of current trade and industry regulations including contracting and reimbursement trends.
Meet deadlines while simultaneously managing several projects.
Proven ability to analyze and resolve problems with minimal direction.
Continuously innovate and use technology to improve processes and performance.
Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to effectively analyze data to determine trends and inform strategy.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with a high attention to detail required.
Pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred.
