Join MITRE’s Satellite Communication department working on next generation DoD satellite communication systems. We are seeking a communications engineer to strengthen their systems engineering skills to shape the specification, development and acquisition strategy of next generation systems.

Key Functions:

Responsibilities include performing communication system-of-systems analysis forrequirements development, performance/benefit trade analysis, end-to-end performance analysis, and developing approaches to identify and mitigate system risks.Tasks may include leading working groups or studies covering multiple engineering domains, creating timely and actionable recommendations to shape DoD strategy, and interfacing and collaborating across multiple stakeholders to create optimized solutions to natural problems.


Required Qualifications:

  • Broad satellite communication systems engineering expertise to support system development.

  • An ability to frame, analyze and solve technical problems in a systems engineering context.

  • Experience in evaluating and testing communication systems.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across multiple organizations and engineering disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AEHF SATCOM, telecommunication systems and integration of solutions from across multidisciplinary engineering domains.

  • Possess a collateral SECRET clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Minimum Qualifications:

BS and 5 years related experience.
