The MITRE Strategic Communications team is creating bold, brand storytelling, immersive experiences, and differentiated content for our talent, customers, partners, influencers, and the communities in which we work and live. We are seeking a Senior Event Strategist to join our Strategic Events team as a collaborative partner. The Senior Event Strategist will work closely with the Sr. Manager, Strategic Events; Marketing Leads for Labs, national security and public sector; and other leaders across the Strategic Communications team. We’re looking for a strategic thinker who is innovative, flexible, solutions oriented and can add to our team’s collective expertise.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience building and managing a busy and varied event calendar – including tradeshows, conferences, seminars, and employee events. You are passionate about creating and delivering thoughtful, innovative events that drive engagement and brand awareness and support business goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, including executive leaders, to identify goals and objectives and consult and advise partners to determine event needs, provide recommendations on event design, and develop and execute event plans to achieve the agreed upon objectives

  • Provide project management for internal and external events to ensure communications, marketing, logistics, registration, speaker management, vendor coordination, and operations are executed to the highest standards

  • Develop and drive the marketing, planning, and logistics of tradeshows; to include coordinating across stakeholders, managing all logistics, and ensuring impeccable execution with a hyper-focus on brand consistency

  • Coordinate event marketing deliverables including graphic design, writing, website, social media, and internal communications

  • Support and assist with large-scale strategic events and sponsor-related projects that help strengthen our brand and advance our mission

  • Assist with administrative management of internal auditorium spaces, including audit/use reports and customer correspondence

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing internal and external events in a corporate/government environment

  • Experience delivering both in-person and virtual events

  • Tech-savvy, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, and comfortable with a variety of virtual event tools, event management platforms (Aventri, Cvent, etc.), and CRM systems

  • Able to coordinate across functions to drive event marketing from inception to delivery

  • Strategic thinker able to advise and drive internal and external partners toward innovative event solutions

  • Solutions-oriented team player with a good sense of humor

  • Proven project management skills; ability to plan, manage, and complete projects, including managing budgets and tracking expenses

  • Superior communication skills and confidence interacting across all levels of the organization

  • BA/BS required

  • 4+ years of successful event marketing experience

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry designation preferred (CMP/CMM, CED, DES, or CTSM)
