MITRE Accelerator is a non-for-profit tech foundation, that undertakes complex challenges that neither government nor industry can solve on their own.

The Proposal Writer and Outreach Manager will join a team that is forming the execution plan for the development and acceleration of leadership for the US Semiconductor industry. The candidate is expected to have knowledge of technology trends, in fields such as microelectronics, the semiconductor industry, telecommunications, cloud computing, healthcare, automotive and defense. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of developing proposals where the MITRE Accelerator team is working on business models, policies, and technologies, and to recommend market and strategic initiatives to support US economic success and growth in the semiconductor industry. The role will require outreach, coordination and collaboration with external parties in government, industry and academia, as well as leading the writing of proposals and supporting document and collateral.

Responsibilities include:

  • Structuring, planning and lead author on written and graphical content for complex business and technical proposals, with inputs from both internal and external collaborators

  • Working in the MITRE Accelerator team that is focused on analyzing and developing strategic proposals, spanning business models, technology, investments, and innovation.

  • Identifying trends in emerging technologies and market segments, and to incorporate these trends into outreach and writing of proposal and collateral

  • Documenting milestone-driven roadmaps and strategic scenarios for technologies and commercialization, including prototyping, scale-up for production, and key performance metrics.

  • Preparing and communicating plans developed by the team to internal and external stakeholders, including memos, presentations, that clearly convey the results, findings, and recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BS or equivalent, with over 3 years of experience in any combination of technical or investigative journalism, product requirements or specifications, or reports on technology trends in a corporate or consulting environment

  • Proven ability to compile information on complex problems, involving multiple industry ecosystems, learn the interdependencies between industry, government, academia and financial investors, and to take ownership of outreach to collaborators and deliver high-quality impactful documents in response to requests for information and requests for proposal

  • Understanding of market concepts necessary to develop documents that describe technology and products, markets and strategy scenarios

  • Ability to create and execute workplans, develop processes for creation of documents for multiple audiences, and to engage external and internal collaborators to contribute to documents and proposals

  • Ability to identify and learn about target audiences and to adapt documents and messaging according to their priorities and pain-points

  • Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact at all corporate levels effectively and comfortably

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and documenting proposals for large-scale industry, government or academic programs, such as establishment of consortia, which include sections on investment, workforce development, technology innovation and roadmaps, and development of partnerships and collaborations with industry and academia

  • Working knowledge and curiosity to learn about technology and industry sectors in one or more of the MITRE Accelerator’s focus areas (cybersecurity, health data, 5G, transportation, semiconductors), with a strong preference for experience in semiconductors and microelectronics
