MITRE is seeking an experienced Market Data professional to continue the growth of our Market Intelligence capability in support of a diverse set of internal and external sponsors. The Market Data Analyst role involves consolidating multiple sources of data into a cleansed, enriched, and actionable data set that can be connected and modified to address key business questions. This role requires an individual that is comfortable with gathering and synthesizing the data, as well as applying strategic thinking to the curation, enrichment and augmentation of the data to enhance future analysis.

Target projects include cleansing and enriching large data sets following Federal contracted obligations, architecting data constructs and data dashboards, market analysis & modeling (overall market and sub-markets), creating connection between multiple data sets for end user analysis. The work also includes engaging with internal clients to scope and prioritize tasks, collecting and working with large datasets to perform data-driven analyses, and performing additional data research as necessary. This position supports other department capabilities in business analyses, strategy, and market intelligence as needed.

This position will interact with all levels of the company, including senior level managers, technical SMEs, and analysts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing market analysis on government funding/budget, industry trends, and market participants, an entrepreneurial approach to generating and creating value and impact, and an appreciation for a nonprofit/public interest environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a dynamic team environment where tasks are rarely routine and often require novel approaches.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, with limited structure and supervision.

  • Assist in identifying sources of information and gathering a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data to support decisions that have implications for MITRE and its government sponsors

  • Apply analysis skills, including exploratory data analysis to organize, analyze, and synthesize data into consumable deliverables

  • Assist in developing data visualization dashboards and deliverables that improve the presentation of complex data sets

  • Translate unstructured data and nontraditional sources of information into dashboards for business insights

  • Create data baselines for various market segments and businesses

  • Obtain, merge, reshape, clean, and evaluate the quality of datasets associated with various markets; work with developers to, where applicable, automate data pulls, manipulation, and other activities to enable efficient operations

  • Work with cross-functional data architecture, data science and support roles to enhance data automation and visualizations

  • Assist in analysis, transition, and improvement at multiple levels of data architecture design and execution

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in: Business, Data Science, Operations, Data Analytics, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience in domains such as data analytics, market analytics, market modeling, data architecture; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • Experience with data analysis, data architecture, and visualization tools, Python, SQL, Tableau and experience with cloud data warehouses

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated skills and experience in presenting analytical results both verbally and in writing

  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Business Administration or another related field

  • Understanding of U.S. government funding data sources and experience with/knowledge of the government contracting market

  • Experience in government contractor consulting and/or in an environment monitoring federal policy and/or appropriations

  • Knowledge of the federal R&D environment and the role and value of federally-funded research and development centers
