MITRE’s Finance organization is seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to support the MITRE Treasury & Corporate Operations Finance Team, which provides financial support to MITRE Senior Leadership and its stakeholders. As a Lead Financial Analyst, you will serve as a trusted advisor in support of the MITRE Corporate Operations Financial Management organization. As a Lead Financial Analyst, you will serve as the primary source of day-to-day financial management and business decision support to Department Managers, and Senior Finance Leadership – playing a key part in the Corporate Operations Finance functions that maximize MITRE’s value to our government sponsors.
This role will be located in McLean, VA office and will have a hybrid work schedule.
Execution of the enterprise planning cycle process (Budget & Quarterly)
Indirect Rate Management across enterprise
Ability to apply a broad range of analytical techniques to identify business issues, opportunities, and risks
Ensure strong operating financial controls and adherence to FAR, CAS, and MITRE finance policies
Support Business Transformation & Process Reengineering Efforts
Working collaboratively across MITRE Finance organization including but not limited to Finance Leads and Finance Managers to converge on processes
Ensure accurate processing and documentation of financial reporting/transactions to ensure established levels of quality and efficiency KPIs
Utilize and apply best practices regarding tools, technology, and standard financial processes
Execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting of internal and external financial information
Ability to partner with budget owners to determine appropriate prioritizations and impact of trade-off decisions on financial metrics
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 6+ years of finance and/or accounting experience within the US Government (Federal) practice of a professional services firm; Master’s degree preferred
Experience with Deltek Cost Point, and or Cognos Analytics preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Excel preferred (ie Pivot tables, Core functions, and formulas)
Experience working with FARs, CAS and government regulations preferred
Resourceful self-starter who executes on commitments
Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills
Consensus builder: Promote ideas and gain buy-in on new approaches
Flexible team player with ability to work in cross-functional teams and across varying groups and organizational levels
Ability to handle multiple concurrent work streams while maintaining high quality output
