Sensata Technologies, Inc. Senior Director, Global Mechanization in Attleboro, Massachusetts
This is an experienced Senior Director, Global Mechanization accountable for all Mechanization program execution and compliance globally. This position will provide leadership and expertise to the Global Mechanization team in achieving speed, costs, quality, and employee development. Must partner with the Global Operations leadership to work towards operational excellence using the latest technologies.
Ability to lead globally in a multi-culture environment
Move Mechanization team towards Industry 4.0
Technically competent in Equipment and Process Development and ability to prioritize projects vs needs
Lead team to build user friendly equipment: Concept, Design, Build, Install & Debug, Validate, Document and Share
Design for manufacturing e.g. competitive lead time, low cost, machine footprint, ease of use, CpK, Yield, etc. Accountable for the entire equipment transfer with KPIs measurement
Able to work with other departments e.g. Process Engineering, PMT, Operations and others for successful implementation of projects and technology
Transfer of knowledge from Mechanization to Make Sites (Both hardware and software). Use copy smartly process for equipment fan-out and/or build at lowest cost and shortest lead time from print (build from print)
Has Product development knowledge e.g. NPDE2
Make vs Buy decisions on capital projects and the management of external machine builders/system integrators
Manage financial performance ensuring project plans and best cost solutions are met globally
Ensure that a talent is coached and mentored to ensure a strong bench strength for global succession planning
Bachelor of Engineering Degree, preferably Mechanical or electrical/Electronics
10+ years experienced in leadership, management and engineering roles
Effective communication and influence skills
Talent development for Mechanization and Make Sites including future needs eg Artificial Intelligence, Equipment Building, etc
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Change-agent who has proven skills in serving multiple stakeholders
Strong skills in managing to targets, leading teams, and executing to plan
Strong influencing skills and ability to build relationships across multiple layers in the organization
Ability to adjust to changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy
Ability to assess, view and develop a clear vision and strategy
Experience leading sites globally
Experience with Manufacturing execution systems (MES)
