The QA Manager will be responsible for assisting functional management in leading the execution and deployment of the defined strategic quality plan. Provides total quality leadership to customers, suppliers, partners and internal functional departments. Leads Six Sigma and continuous improvement activities in targeted areas. Assists in the management of the quality assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements. Drives performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals. Leverages resources and motivates personnel to create high performance culture.
Responsible of all elements of the Quality Management System and maintaining ISO9001:2015 certification.
Leads the strategy for Six Sigma project implementation that aligns with Rapiscan’s strategic goals.
Responsible for the successful completion of assigned Six Sigma projects designed to significantly improve product quality, processes, and performance.
Manages Customer Quality interface to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting in complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination.
Manages Supplier Quality performance and drive improvement to ensure products conform to the design requirements meet Rapiscan’s quality requirements.
Provides Quality leadership to support the development and launch of new product introductions utilizing APQP and PPAP methodologies.
Ensures development, implementation, and audit of complex inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions.
Leads the auditing of our internal Quality Systems.
Manages the monthly Business Performance Reviews and annual Management Review Meetings.
Collects and analyzes organizational predicative and proactive quality metrics and performs reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.
Develops and implements a quality structure capable of supporting strategic business plans and initiatives while meeting target deadlines.
Leads improvement teams in the development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits with an emphasis on Six Sigma and Lean practices.
Coordinates and assists with site initiatives, participating on teams in order to drive best practices.
Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of Rapiscan’s Internal Quality Assurance Program and Supplier Quality Program and requirements.
Evaluates individual performances and creates individual development plans.

Ensure that direct report(s) are trained and evaluated on their knowledge and adherence to the company’s values, Code of Ethics and Conduct, and applicable compliance policies.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering related field or Quality Assurance; Master’s Degree preferred.
10+ years of working experience in a manufacturing environment
5+ years professional experience in a quality managerial role
3+ years recent Six Sigma Black Belt experience.
Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.
Proven ability to effectively facilitate the implementation of significant changes in a large organization.
Thorough knowledge of APQP and PAPP methodologies.
Thorough understanding of problem solving methods – i.e. 8D, DMAIC, PDCA, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
Detailed knowledge of ISO9001:2015 quality registration schemes and certification process (ASQ Certifications and ISO9001:2015 Auditor Certification preferred).
Detailed knowledge of process auditing techniques, flowcharts, PFMEAs, Control Plans.
Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
Thorough knowledge of gauging and basic understanding or product material properties.
Ability to read engineered product drawings.
Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and ability to walk throughout the facility.
Power BI knowledge preferred.
Must be able to obtain a Sensitive Security Information (SSI) clearance.
