Mercury Systems Principal Product Manager in Andover, Massachusetts
Job Description: Mercury Systems seeks a Principal Product Manager for its Embedded Product Line located in Andover, MA. As a product manager you will collaborate to deliver leading edge, advanced processing solutions designed for mission-critical applications in defense, aerospace and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will be a driving force helping to evolve our existing product line based upon inputs from a variety of sources (e.g., within the company, from suppliers/vendors, or from customers in the field). This role will manage product lifecycles working in tandem with fellow product managers and cross-functional teams to drive revenues for new and legacy product programs throughout their entire product life cycle. Job Responsibilities: * Represent business unit as the ambassador for Embedded computing products, which support mission-critical applications in the defense, aerospace and industrial sectors. * Gain early insight into opportunities and market direction by building relationships with business and thought leaders at key customers. * Monitor industry, technology and competitive trends to position us to win in our chosen markets. * Develop and execute product and technology roadmaps. * Develop and execute product launch and marketing strategies. * Solicit and respond to government and customer BAAs, RFIs, RFPs and RFQs. * Meet and beat product line revenue and bookings objectives. * Aggressively grow product line revenue and profit year over year. * Where needed, ensure that FARS and DFARS regulations are followed. * Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end of life. * Drive sales and marketing collateral generation. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field. * 7+ years direct product management or related experience. * Experience with embedded systems especially in high performance computing environments. * Familiarity with open architectures and experiences with ruggedized hardware, security and real-time data processing. * US Citizen with active secret clearance or the ability to obtain one. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's Degree (MBA or MS Management, MS Logistics or Supply Chain). * Familiarity with open architectures and experiences with ruggedized hardware, security and real-time data processing. * A track record of successfully winning bids and launching products into the aerospace and defense markets. * Experience with Defense or Government contracts and demonstrated success developing relationships with external customers. * Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with customers and at all levels of the organization. * Ability to interact with multi-disciplined professionals to understand and make necessary tradeoffs and decisions. * Strong business acumen/judgment; ability to make trades and provide specific recommendations to senior management, partners, and the customer's business leaders. Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Must be able to lift 30 pounds waist high. Must be able to walk production floor on regular basis.
