Overview

If you are looking to work on a wide range of technologies, architectures, and IP for next generation products, the Connectivity Technology group is the place for you. As part of a small, highly skilled team you will work with customers, marketing, product teams, and Skyworks Technology/Manufacturing group to identify critical needs for next generation Connectivity products. You will design, prototype, and validate new PA, Switch, LNA, & analog control circuits with the goal of delivering this IP for integration into the next generation of WiFi FEMs and new product segments.

Job Description

Skyworks Solutions is seeking an experienced RFIC/SOI designer for its Connectivity Technology team in our Andover, MA Design Center. The candidate will contribute to the concept, design, integration, and delivery of complex RFIC-based wireless module solutions for Connectivity applications with a focus on multi-path switch and LNA architectures. The candidate will be involved with all aspects of next generation SOI product realization and work with connectivity technology team members and the foundry technology team to achieve best in class Rx IP.

Responsibilities

• Design of multi-function silicon based RFICs with Switch/LNA, switch and filter content in the 2-9 GHz frequency band for wireless applications

• Work with the systems teams and technology team members to perform feasibility analysis on next generation Rx architectures

• Work with foundry technology team to assess and specify next generation external fab SOI technologies

• Perform detailed analysis, design, and tapeout of integrated SOI ICs with support from analog and layout teams

• Work with validation and test teams to thoroughly vet new IP with comprehensive testing

• Presentation of detailed design reviews and final data reports to product teams.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 9 years of experience in IC design, or MSc plus 7 years minimum, or PhD plus 5 years minimum

• RF Design/simulation expertise with Cadence and/or Keysight ADS

• RFIC/SOI design experience using SOI/CMOS including LNA design, switch design, and bias networks

• Strong knowledge of RF circuit matching architectures and design tradeoffs

• Demonstrated expertise with EM tools for full IC + module level simulation

• Strong knowledge of ESD protection techniques

• Ability to manage the assigned project with minimum supervision

• Solid Lab evaluation experience to support/guide IC test & characterization

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to generate clear technical presentations and data summaries

The following qualifications are also desirable

• Understanding of wafer fabrication process and its effect on circuit performance and yields

• An understanding of basic analog circuits & loop stability analysis

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $124,400 - $235,700 per year . Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
