Electrical Engineer

Great client is looking for an Industrial Electrical Engineer contractor for an 18 month contract. Candidate will be providing engineering technical support to the site Infrastructure Engineering Team with responsibilities for site electrical systems within a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

  • Provide detailed, technical, robust design and operational solutions in support of site electrical infrastructure, including 15kv/480v protection devices, 15kv/480v distribution system, transformers, substations, Motor Control Centers, electrical load management systems, UPS systems, emergency/life safety diesel generator distribution, combined heat and power turbines, boilers, associated controls.

  • Maintain robust asset lifecycle plans for site electrical distribution including transformers, substations, Motor Control Centers, Lead the development of strategic asset master plans to inform capital investment requirements

  • Support the evaluation of new equipment technologies that increase plant robustness

  • Support multiple projects and ongoing work activities typically involving cross-functional representatives.

  • Support electrical power plant operations, including synchronization, paralleling, load lines, etc.

  • Participate in site electrical safety program, ARC Flash analysis, breaker coordination, developing and updating site electrical and power plant standards and Preventive Maintenance.

  • Provide technical engineering support to develop scope of work, project execution plans, and associated engineering studies for equipment / component installation, modification, replacement, in accordance with site specifications. Leverage site project management team to execute scopes of work.

  • Provide technical trouble shooting support using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), with good engineering practices and problem solving techniques.

  • Support proactive reliability assessments including data collection, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), HAZOP analysis and process improvement initiatives.

  • Provide good judgment and innovation by utilizing and adapting a broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive experience.

  • Lead and coordinate Facility / Utility Shutdown efforts to complete planned preventive / corrective maintenance and capital projects to improve asset reliability.

  • Candidate must be highly motivated, show initiative, and work well independently or in a team environment.

  • Working knowledge of automated systems with ability to troubleshoot.



  • Experience level: Experienced

  • Minimum 10 years of experience

  • Education: Bachelors (required)


  • Electrical (8 years of experience is required)

  • Industrial Electrical Engineer (5 years of experience is required)

  • Diesel Generators (3 years of experience is required)

  • Cooling Generators (3 years of experience is required)

  • OPERATIONS SUPPORT (3 years of experience is required)
