Description: At Advanced Energy Storage division of Lockheed Martin,
-The Electrical Design Engineer will have an opportunity to contribute to the development of energy storage of the future.
-The engineer will have the opportunity to work together a team of world-class engineers and scientists, with the backing of a global technology industry leader known for its history of innovation.
-The engineer will have the opportunity to develop technical solutions supporting the operation of a revolutionary grid-connected flow battery system.
-The engineer will have the opportunity to use their knowledge of power conversion, industrial controls, PCB design, sensors and actuators to contribute to and lead the design and integration of power distribution systems, AC and DC protection, process parameter monitoring and signal conditioning.
-The engineer will have the opportunity to select and integrate commercial off-the-shelf solutions and will design customized monitoring and control equipment.
-The engineer will have the opportunity to provide electrical technical support, testing and troubleshooting of components and subsystems, and documentation of results.
-The engineer will have the opportunity to watch their designs evolve from conceptual stage to detailed implementation to high-volume production.

Andover Massachusetts is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of that city. Andover is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Salem, New Hampshire. Andover is within reach of New Hampshire’s White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH which lie about 45 minutes to the east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Andover and the region share an impressive past from the early days after the pilgrims arrived in Plymouth to the revolutionary war. Where can you get to from Andover? Andover is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the south without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Andover. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north. It should be noted that Andover, Massachusetts is approximately 25 miles north of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of significantly more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.
-A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required with at least 12 months of engineering experience including engineering internships. -Candidate must be familiar with industrial controls and instrumentation
-Candidate must be familiar electronics design troubleshooting
-Familiarity with product development and documentation practices
-Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
-Ability and desire to work both independently and as a part of cross-functional team of electrical engineers, software and control engineers, and test technicians
-A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with over 2 years of experience
-familiarity with industrial fieldbuses
-Strong interest in renewable energy field, familiarity with energy storage systems, and experience with flow batteries
-Familiarity with industrial power systems, up to 480 VAC, and up to 1000 VDC
-Understanding of fundamentals of analog and digital circuit design, familiarity with microprocessor-based embedded systems
-Familiarity with PCBA design cycle from schematics capture to layout recommendations and board-level testing and troubleshooting
-Experience with new product development process including design for reliability, maintainability, serviceability, safety
-Familiarity with at least one of the following field buses: Modbus, EtherCAT, CAN
-Knowledge of Solidworks Electrical, Altium Designer, or similar CAD software
-Experience with programming in C, C++, Python; use of NI LabView
-Extensive use of digital oscilloscopes, power meters, and other test equipment; basic soldering and wiring skills
-Strong ability to write test procedures and reports
