The Commercial Core Team Leader is responsible for leading a cross-functional core team, and its extended team members, in development of business systems and commercial strategies to support diabetes care product launches. S/he, in close partnership with her/his core team members, develops the cross-functional strategies for the program and manages day-to-day execution of these and supporting strategies. S/he also manages the related activities of team members, tracks progress against plan, manages the project budget, identifies project risks and provides plans to mitigate those risks. The Core Team Leader should be capable of managing varying degrees of program and project size, cost, complexity or risk.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Core Team Leader is responsible and accountable to lead and direct cross-functional activities and outcomes in an entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Influence commercial direction of the program, including post market service model, complaint management, and launch strategy

  • Leading the creation of the cross-functional project plan, including budget and resource planning, to successfully launch the product to market. Planning resource requirements and negotiating team resource assignments with functional managers

  • Leading development of business systems and processes to support devices during and after launch.

  • Leading recommendations on service/support organization structure.

  • Motivate and organize a cross functional team

  • Aligning and managing all cross-functional activities to deliver the business systems/processes on time and on budget per contract while meeting all agreed upon operational, business and customer requirements.

  • Negotiating, resolving personal/team conflicts and project/functional conflicts, and driving achievement of project and business goals

  • Successfully tracking progress to goals, plan and resolve deviations

  • Providing work definition and direction to the assigned cross-functional Core Team Members.

  • Providing coaching and mentoring to Core Team members and providing significant feedback to functional leaders regarding functional strategies and execution and training needs of, and resources required by, the core team.

  • Providing meaningful and significant input to the performance of core team members that is considered in their year-end performance reviews and compensation recommendations.

  • Conducting successful commercial, design, and business project reviews; making the leadership team aware of, and proposing solutions to, unanticipated or potential issues/concerns as soon as they are known.

  • Ensuring ideal customer experience; spending time with customers/end-users and constantly investing in understanding customer environment.

  • Collaborating with the hardware, software and commercial teams in driving a successful product launch.

  • Providing accurate and timely reporting

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement in organization's ability to execute programs and projects from initiation through launch.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

  • 10 + years medical device experience supporting product launch and post market management.

  • Successful experience working with outside contract service organizations.

  • Communication of complex technical and business topics to senior leadership teams

  • Must be a skilled and determined communicator and negotiator.

  • Must have strong leadership skills and be very relationship and collaborative oriented

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills as well as presentation expertise to senior level leadership.

  • Organizational awareness and ability to garner support at all levels for a course of action.

  • Strong motivational fit.

  • Travel: Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time; occasional international travel will be required.
