The Materials Engineering Department, which functions within the Mechanical Product Team (MPT), is seeking an experienced Additive Manufacturing Technical Lead to provide technical oversight meant for Additive manufacturing equipment and processes, RF Characterization, and simulation tools. Position is in Andover, MA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Work with RMD technology leads and program teams to identify technology gaps and prioritize new efforts going forward.

  • Facilitate Raytheon-UML planning and strategy meetings to guide Institute’s direction. Requires staying up-to-date on technology developments through conferences, journals, and in-person visits to partners and potential partners.

  • Provide day-to-day support to the RURI teams and guidance on Raytheon and PERC projects.

  • Support program managers and students on additive manufacturing equipment and processes, RF Characterization, and simulation tools.

  • Facilitate communications between project teams, including project deadlines and impact on resources. Coordinate efforts between students, professors and project leads at Raytheon.

  • Provide guidance on and ensure proper control of ITAR and Raytheon proprietary information. Ensure processes are defined, communicated and followed.

  • Lead proposal activities and work with Customers to find funding opportunities.

  • Oversee use of RMD funds at RURI and ensure efforts stay on budget. Track spending, IP and other key metrics.

  • Present results to RMD leadership and across Raytheon Technologies to garner new interest and support.

  • Improving & optimizing standard operating procedures

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) (Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or other Engineering discipline)

  • Ten (10) years of engineering experience, which must include working with additive manufacturing tools, such as as FDM, aerosol jet printing and/or direct write techniques Or seven (7) with an advance degree.

  • Experience with RF systems &/or Microelectronics Packaging

  • Experience in materials science, or chemical engineering or related field

  • Experience with process development, process flow, and cross-functional teamwork

  • Experience in program or engineering project proposal writing

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Tweleve (12) years of Additive Manufacturing experience,

  • Experience with Nextflex, America Makes, AFFOA and/or other Manufacturing Innovation Institutes

  • Understanding of technology transfer to manufacturing and process release concepts

  • Expertise in Additive Manufacturing tools including FDM, direct write, and aerosol jetting tools

  • Experience in screen printing

  • Experience with Ansys, CAD, HFSS, Mastercam software

  • Experience working with ARL, AFRL, ONR and other DoD Institutes

  • Reliability test development and process qualification methods

  • Strong verbal and communication skills, interacting with cross-functional teams, interacting with teammates of varied experience (students, professors, industry members)

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills

  • Determine root cause and solutions to problems in an expeditious manner

  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting, problem solving, and analysis

    • Completion of all required Raytheon EXIM training, University PI training and IRAD PI training
  • Ability to lead and execute project work independently

  • Demonstrate multi-tasking capabilities in fast paced environment
