Landscape Designer/Salesperson Job Summary: While sales are the principal function of this position, you will be able to provide residential landscape designs from the landscape planning to the completion of the hardscape, drainage, and driveway. You should also be able to provide sketches and pricing for hardscape and paving projects. Duties/Responsibilities: - You will plan the finished product by tying in new features with current ones and by sketching it to scale. These drawings will be detailed as to scale and placement of new features in existing locations. - You will Performing site analyses that include the assessment of current plants, soil conditions, lighting, and view of the property. - You can communicate well both with clients and co-workers (contractors, supervisors, etc.) on the landscaping/construction team. - You will review plans, proposed changes, and other significant documents. - You will oversee progression of the project to ensure that it is going as planned. - Open & timely communication between crew members and customer - You will ensure the desires and expectations of the customer are met. - Finish work in a timely manner and deadline driven - You will be keeping records. - You will write work orders on projects sold to aid the operations manager in planning and scheduling the project. Required Skills/Abilities: You will need an understanding of design including texture, balance, proportion, and more. You will also need a strong background in horticulture so that you understand which plants will work where, and why they will thrive there. You'll need to be creative, yet unafraid of working with your hands. Education and Experience: - Basic surveying experience and equipment knowledge - A knowledge of how much the materials and labor will cost. - Knowledge of how ecological conditions can affect a proposed design. - An understanding of the permits you will have to obtain in specific areas CULTURE: Treat everyone with respect and kindness. Physical Requirements: - Must be able to traverse work site in different types of weather and bend, climb, stretch, reach, and lean to make inspections. - Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times. - Some travel may be required. Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 depending on experience.
