Massachusetts Employer Entry-level CNC Machine Operator in Amesbury, Massachusetts
Summary Upon completion of on-job training: Under minimal supervision - operate CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts. DUTIES Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner Develops basic knowledge and understanding of CNC machine operations, practices and process with competency (lathes and mills) Learns to properly and safely loads and unloads raw material in CNC machine Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirement Develop ability to read, understand and keep record of all production paperwork and inspection reports Learn to measure and cut raw stock into blanks for machining Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures *REQUIREMENTS Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, instructions and requirements of the DesignWerkes Inc handbook. To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience. Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to move or transfer product of at least 50lbs when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands or fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and listen with ears. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or climb as part of their job. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including safety goggles, gloves, ear-buds/ear-muffs, and other protective wear is either available or required per OSHA safety guidelines.
