Position We produce world class fasteners by applying effective lean principles in a state of the art manufacturing environment. The Material Handler transports materials throughout our facility safely and efficiently. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this key position requires precision, focus, the ability to work as part of a team and, most importantly, a strong commitment to safety. Responsibilities Promote Safety as the Number 1 priority of all employees. Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Properly load and/or unload materials as necessary onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. Safely convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. Count, weigh, and/or record units of materials moved as required. Attach identifying tags or labels to materials as instructed. Remove and correctly store excess skids, pans and bulk boxes. Perform preventative maintenance as required. Maintain a neat and well-organized work area. Other duties as directed by Group Leader or Supervisor. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and work orders. Ability to perform simple mathematical equations, use a basic calculator and scales. PC skills and ability to utilize warehouse management systems preferred. Forklift certified and capable of operating a fork truck within reasonable speeds and safely in a congested manufacturing environment. Team-oriented approach with a desire to work in a hands-on capacity. Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong sense of responsibility and ownership. Ability to work overtime hours as needed. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
