Position Overview OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster?. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Material Handler transports material through our facility safely and efficiently. This key position requires precision, focus, the ability to work as part of a team, and, most importantly, a strong commitment to safety. The Material Handler must be a team player and committed to delivering only the best quality to our customers. Responsibilities Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees. Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to ascertain material or containers to be moved. Properly load and unload material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. Safely convey material from storage or worksites to designated areas. Count, weigh, and/or record units of material. Remove and store excess materials and scrap as instructed. Maintain a neat and well-organized work area. Perform other tasks as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders. Good written and verbal communication, and basic math skills. Ability to perform simple mathematical equations, using a basic calculator and scales. Basic PC skills and ability to utilize a warehouse management system preferred. Forklift certified and experience operating a fork truck safely in a manufacturing environment. Ability to contribute as part of a team. Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills. Positive can-do attitude. Physical Requirements Ability to work in high-noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices. Ability to mount/dismount forklift utilizing three points of contact (two hands and one foot). Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch. The position requires the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 Must be able to complete all essential job functions listed in the position responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
