Position Summary and Responsibilities
The person we are looking for will be an experienced Shipping/Receiving/Inventory Control Coordinator and will oversee all aspects of inventory, shipping, and receiving, and will work and communicate directly with the leadership of the company regarding any issues pertaining to inventory control, shipping and receiving. This individual will follow the manufacturing production processes to ensure that the resources required to make products are in stock and available. Work with the organization’s manufacturing and purchasing personnel to plan the flow of materials. Prepare product for shipment (packaging, palletizing, etc) and receive products. Responsible for daily inventory transactions and cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate activities related to the timely, cost effective procurement, inventory control, planning, and quality control of production materials in an ERP environment.
Maintain proper shipping, receiving and inventory control records and procedures.
Ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels. Reviews and plans requirements for acceptable inventory.
Coordinate with finance on all matters involving inventory accuracy and costing.
Process all outgoing shipments through various means of transportation following standard procedures. Prepare shipping documents, commercial invoices, packing list, bill of ladings, etc.
Maintain shipment files and report figures as needed.
Receive, unpack and issue materials to stockroom, manufacturing, or designated location.
Check goods received against bills of lading, purchase orders, etc.
Place materials, supplies and other received goods on shelves, racks, or floor locations.
Direct all warehouse processes that ensure inventory accuracy and operations systems integrity by conducting daily cycle counts. Ensure that all areas of the warehouse, shipping and receiving areas are organized, properly maintained and debris/trash are disposed of on a daily basis.
Utilize the company operating system Epicor9 to perform necessary warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material management processes.
Experience and knowledge of warehouse inventory management systems, shipping and receiving methods.
Adaptability/Attendance/Punctuality – is consistently on time and shows willingness for change and eagerness to do so. Must be able to work weekends as needed for month-end, quarter end shipments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, accuracy and planning abilities.
Able to work with people at all levels of the organization.
Must lift heavy to medium weight items.
Requires attention to detail and ability to handle multiple situations at one time.
Minimum of 2 years experience in shipping/Receiving/Inventory Control.
Must have good computer skills in Excel & Word.
ERP systems experience a plus.
5-S experience a plus.
Familiar with AES/EEI filing
Coordinate shipments with Freight Forwarders.
Understand basic knowledge of US import and export regulations.
