Shipping and Receiving Clerk Position Overview of Responsibilities Receiving of daily inbound orders, storing in the warehouse areas, coolers and freezers; Shipping: Picking orders of finished goods in freezer, wrapping and loading orders on trucks Identifying lot code information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; Checks availability of items by checking inventory records or conducting a spot inventory of required product; Identifies and reports slow moving product or expiration dates; Keeps Manager and Supervisor informed as to the status of Finished Goods Inventory and reports any discrepancies; Ensures that all products is transferred and delivered to the designated location as requested; Ensures that all necessary reports and forms are filled out and submitted in a timely manner; Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area and Follow Good Manufacturing Practices; Safeguards and maintains company equipment and property, including Personal Protection Equipment (PPE); Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Able to meet physical demands in work environment as generally described below Forklift experience preferred but not required Ability to work independently Strong communication skills Ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced work environment Responsible, dependable, conscientious, alert, and safety minded Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related college education preferred, or two-three years experience in shipping and receiving, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food Safety & Quality Requirements/Responsibilities: Adheres to all Food Safety/Quality SOP's Accurately completes require Food Safety & Quality Records Communicates any known or suspected Food Safety/ Quality issues to the QA Manager and Department Manager. Work Environment: Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production environment. As part of the job requirements associate may be exposed to a production setting and will work in a sub-zero freezer with a temperature of -20 at times. Must be flexible with work schedule that supports a 24 hour production facility. Schedule will include weekends and mandatory overtime.
