Production Planner


Plan, schedules, coordinates and tracks the flow of hardware and material throughout the manufacturing process, including fabrication, assembly, test and shipment. The Production Planner is expected to handle jobs of higher complexity and/or shorter turn-around times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate work orders and ensure the accuracy of included documentation as required.

  • Maintain documentation control of production hardware including traceability; generate schedules, flow sheets and other tools for the tracking of WIP.

  • Provide drawings, instructions, and procedures to the manufacturing areas as required; maintain configuration control of production hardware.

  • Flag production problems and coordinate resolution through appropriate support and management personnel.

  • Expedite purchase requisitions through purchasing and update purchase order progress as needed.

  • Coordinate and support customer source inspection of hardware and monitor parts through receiving, inspection, expediting through Quality Control as required.

  • Provide reports regarding status of hardware and materials as required by management.

  • Inspect all documentation prior to releasing it for further processing.


  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent is preferred

  • MRP/ERP experience required.

  • 3-5 years of job shop/assembly experience as a planner.

  • Prior experience in aerospace/defense/medical will be given very strong consideration.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including conventional and CNC machining, precision/close tolerance fabrication processes, heat treating, welding and assembly is a plus.

  • Strong computer skills in Windows Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.) are required.

  • Good working knowledge of Bills of Materials and Routings.
