TURNERS FALLS 12 HOUR SHIFTS Bandsaw Machine Operator - Tech III Deerfield Packaging is looking to employ hardworking, self-motivatedindividuals to operate its bandsaw used in cutting and preparing the steel for manufacturing. Job Characteristics Proper and safe set up of bandsaw machine, including checking fluid levels and evaluating blade status Read prints and shop packs for tool and alloy specifications and to set correct cutting speed and length Load and stack steel according to size and steel type to maximize job load Maximize saw blade life whenever possible Change worn blades as necessary and honing the blade after installation Able to use manual and electric lifts to transport raw and finished materials Use calipers and measuring tapes to ensure precision Obtain first piece sign off from supervisor at the start of every new job Required Skills Ability to read and follow tool schematics Hoisting Engineer License (3A) or ability to acquire one Close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Written and verbal English communication skills Able to work with a team to accomplish company goals Strict attention to safety procedures and guidelines including wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE) Willingness to keep and maintain a clean and safe work environment Adherence to attendance policy Required Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Education/Experience Experience working in a manufacturing/industrial facility Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
