State of Massachusetts Compliance Officer III in Tewksbury, Massachusetts


  1. Ensures that all patients’ complaints for Tewksbury Hospital Psychiatric Services are processed and a log number assigned. Reviews all DPPC from the Area Office to determine if it meets the criteria for 10 day fact finding.

  2. Prepares all complaints for review by the COO/Director of Mental Health Services or designee and the Complaint Review Committee (CRC).

  3. Facilitates weekly meetings of the complaints committee, tracking and monitoring disposition and outcomes of all complaints, maintaining Quality Improvement Department files of all complaints and administrative resolutions, and ensuring that all the information pertinent to the Public Log is provided to the Central Office Database.

  4. Provides complete packet of all relevant documents to Human Rights Officer each month for review by Human Rights Committee.

  5. Meets with patients, staff or other relevant parties to conduct 10 day fact finding.

  6. Completes 10 day fact finding reports.

  7. Generates decision and action letters for signature by COO/Director of Mental Health Services.

  8. Follows up with appropriate patient or staff regarding complaints.

  9. Completes all required hospital reports for assigned committees.

  10. Actively participates in the following committees/meetings on a regular basis:

  12. Psychiatric Services Performance Improvement Committee

  13. Hospital Risk Management Committee

  14. Hospital Safety Committee

  15. Hospital Canteen Committee

*P erforms key facilitation or leadership role in these committees.

WORK SCHEDULE: 37.5 Hours, Monday-Friday

Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in investigatory, law enforcement or regulatory administration work, or (B) and equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.


A Bachelor's or higher degree may be substituted for a maximum of the two years of the required experience.*
