IQE Shift Process Engineer in Taunton, Massachusetts

Translating customer’s requirements into finished product that meets the customer defined physical, electronic and optical specifications, including responsibility for a process reactor. Carrying out these duties on a shifted day basis, providing the main technical focal point out-of-normal working hours and be first point of contact for escalation of issues.

  • Day-to-day responsibility for one or more process reactors, recipe generation and overall process responsibility for relevant product lines.

  • The adjustment of growth parameters to obtain “in-spec” high quality material in conjunction with engineering guidelines and/or feedback.

  • The SPC charting of the reactor and its performance as per appropriate SOPs.

  • Provide the first pass troubleshooting and the repair and maintenance of the reactors assigned to him/her, and the safety issues associated with this maintenance, as deemed needed by, and coordinated with, production management, the Maintenance Manager, and the Engineering Team.

  • Proactively drive reactor scheduling to achieve released orders.

  • To inspect all pertinent production and characterization data and to subsequently authorize the release of product to the customer.

  • Technical support for issues arising in connection with the operation of the reactors

  • Ensure that technical data (internal/external characterization) is used in an effective manner

  • Must have a high rate of proficiency with regard to recipe and construction and editing.

  • To participate and drive reactor/product improvement programs.

  • Support the operations team; answering questions as they are raised and quickly resolving issues.

  • Coordination with Engineering Team concerning the calibration and setup of the reactors assigned to him/her.

  • Coordinate Engineer pass down at end of shift.

  • Adhering to all internal safety, HR, environmental and quality guidelines & procedures.

  • Participate in periodic meetings, as needed

Associate Degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or Physics plus some industry experience required OR Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or Physics is preferred

MOCVD growth experience is a plus.

Functional knowledge on the use and practice of SPC.

Effective communication skills.

Knowledge of computers and software necessary to generate reports and run the reactors.
