IQE Device Processing Technician in Taunton, Massachusetts

Responsible for daily device fabrication of GaAs based HBT / pHEMT devices and/or GaN based pHEMT devices. Requires complete fabrication process in a cleanroom environment utilizing all processing tools necessary to fabricate device form 2” to 8” wafers. Upon completion of processing and testing, reporting of results is performed with a variety of computer controlled semiconductor test equipment. Communicating and supporting Process Engineers and Scientist in the interpretation of device results.

Sectioning of wafers for SIMS, Processing, Long Term Storage, Customer Requests and Uniformity Studies.

Chemical Etching of wafers required for device definition and selective etch.

Use of photolithography for device definition required for subsequent process steps.

Use of oven, furnace and/or RTA tools for wafer baking and annealing

Perform contact formation on GaAs and/or GaN device through metal evaporation techniques

Perform Large Area Device testing utilizing Semiconductor Parameter Analyzers.

Obtain sheet resistance values using multiple standard measurement techniques such as TLM and CROSS.

Execute CV profile measurements with the use of computer controlled LCR Meters.

Monitor device temperature dependencies with the use of variable temperature probe stations.

Accurately tracking and logging of all necessary data measured during the process cycle and through to final device test.

Effectively communicating and supporting Process Engineers and Scientist in the interpretation of device results and assisting in special engineering requests.

Monitoring of all equipment used in the device fabrication process and test for proper operation and stability.

Must maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion.

Additional production support as specified by Department Manager, Supervisor or Device Processing Engineering Technician.

Associate Degree in Engineering preferred

1-5 years in semiconductor manufacturing environment preferred.

Cleanroom wafer fab experience helpful, but not a must.

ISO experience a plus.

Ability to work in a team orientated environment.

Extreme attention to detail and high level of personal responsibility.

Excellent communication skills; high work standards; accountability; ability to perform under pressure.

Requires proficiency in applying automated computer systems to achieve business solutions including: Windows operating systems (98 through to Windows 8) to navigate between applications and store data using Microsoft office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
