The VP of Operations has overall leadership responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the Warehouse departments, Shipping & Receiving, Transportation ,Fleet Maintenance, Sanitation ,Facility and Grounds Maintenance. This position monitors the productivity and management of all related personnel, ensures compliance with all Government regulations and is responsible for the Emergency Response, Crisis Management , and drives the Safety Culture for the Operating Company.
This role will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team at the Operating Company in Springfield, Massachusetts and is directly involved in the monitoring and controlling of Operating Expenses.
Ensure compliance, and audits all required inspections and documentations are completed accurately: food safety documentation, DOT records, EPSM, HACCP,SOP,EPA, AIB,OSHA and others as required.
Responsible for the accurate, efficient, safe and fiscally responsible daily work of the Inbound and Outbound Warehouse, Transportation , Fleet Services and Facilities departments and employees. Manages all responsibilities efficiently to eliminate business disruption.
Is the Key decision maker in the selection of staff, compensation, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations. Develops team members through appropriate training , coaching and mentoring to ensure strong operational and financial performance . Maintains associate relations , monitors morale, and implements or responds to suggestions to effectively reduce turnover.
Monitors the condition and maintenance of the warehouse, fleet services, software, ammonia refrigeration system, HVAC systems, fire protection to ensure safety guidelines are met to prevent injuries, accidents, damage/loss of product or equipment .
Ability to work effectively, problem solve, think and react quickly in a fast paced Operating Company while managing the stress and pressure of being a 24/7 operation.
Develop and implement operational policies, procedures and standards to achieve company goals, actively involved in business planning and analysis (budget building and enforcement, capacity planning, P & L, performance analysis).
Actively participants and coordinates company meetings and presentations with Senior staff.
Must be able to work non -traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and be on-call.

Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or Business Management, or 10 years progressive experience in Foodservice Distribution required.
Extensive understanding of Warehousing, Transportation and Distribution procedures .
Dynamic problem solver with a track record of successfully driving positive change and fostering a positive winning culture.
Working knowledge of MS Office ( Word, Excel, Outlook )
Eight years operations leadership role in a progressive large scale foodservice environment preferred
