The marketing consultant is responsible to design and execute strategies that accelerate the growth in the business owner market space.
Responsibilities include development of comprehensive marketing strategies that help distinguish MassMutual s brand, holistic solutions and value proposition in defined target markets. The individual will commission, interpret, and apply market research, trends, meaningful insights and demographic and competitive data on a timely basis to ensure an integrated marketing strategy across all customer touchpoints through the identification of tools and partners that extend the reach of the brand and foster a stellar customer experience that deepens loyalty. This leader will establish realistic and achievable goals with trackable metrics. S/he will guide effective real time recommendations to attract, grow and retain business owner customers and their employees through all available distribution and marketing channels, and collaborate across the enterprise to ensure marketing initiatives are effective, efficient, supportable and scalable.
Proactively develop consumer engagement marketing strategies to meet current and future needs of research based, data-defined target audiences through new markets, relationships, sponsorships and channels for product and service distribution
Monitor related competitive activity and industry news; disseminate information to appropriate teams; ensure the company achieves and maintains a competitive edge
Generate ideas, concepts, and systems for achieving deeper deployment and more sales of products and services
Develop marketing campaigns that compliment company sales strategies
Explore and negotiate the prospect of partnering or acquiring business partners that align with strategic goals; analyzing concepts for joint ventures with other brands that appear to be synergistic
Act as a contributing influencer and subject matter expert for business partners and assist in planning and execution of primary and secondary support strategies
Develop timelines for project completion and manage program start to finish; ensure all milestones are met and make informed decisions to implement solutions as needed in response to unforeseen issues, changes and adjustments
Commission consumer research as required; assist in hypothesis development and testing, and translate findings into actionable marketing initiatives
Determine fiscal requirements for all programs and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditures
Collaborate to create and develop of all program and campaign support materials: positioning, messaging, copy; print and digital promotions, tools, events, sponsorships and co-branded opportunities
Participate on cross-functional teams to assist in the execution of other MMUS projects and strategies as needed; maintain relationships and work collaboratively across Product & Marketing, Customer Experience, and MMFA groups and assist where applicable
Promote, at all times, Company brand position, imagery and Winning Ways,
Product & Marketing operating norms, and Business Markets strategic value proposition
Strong knowledge of marketing principles and strategies, product and brand management
Firm understanding of company s products: features, benefits, and related solutions
Track record establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners, vendors and industry experts with demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, product, service, training, and business resource groups
Demonstrated ability to think creatively, visually and strategically
Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems
Excellent analytical, organizational and presentation skills
Ability to juggle and prioritize, and balance goals, projects and personalities with focus on continuous improvement
Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
Understanding of digital and social media communications and platforms
Stay abreast of competitive developments (product offerings, marketing tactics, PR and social activities, vendor capabilities)
Able to adapt, learn, and thrive in potentially ambiguous circumstances – and lead others to success
Be active, visible and effective at key business partners huddles and other critical venues to accomplish the above
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight; regularly communicate with Business Market leadership program status, including issues, deliverables and project progression
10 plus years,Financialservicesmarketingorcommunicationsexperience;prior relevant work in business market preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
BA in Marketing, Business or Communications, Master s degree highly desirable
