The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) announces the availability of a Full-Time Residential Supervisor C (RSC) position working in the Southeast Region for the Southeast Residential Services. DDS is searching for a candidate who is well versed in the field of Human Services, working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities along with physical challenges. The residents live in a residential home setting. The RSC position will manage two homes in Southeastern, MA.
The RSC will Direct and oversee the operation and maintenance of two community residences in the towns ofScituate and Marshfield, MA. The duties will include supervision, training, evaluation, and scheduling of approximately 25 direct support staff and communicate with legal guardians, family members, and friends.
This position provides direct support as needed, foster and enhances the fulfillment of the consumer’s human rights, individual control and community membership. Additionally, this position will monitor residential and consumer funds, implement consumer individual service plans (ISP), oversee consumer health coordination with nursing supports, and ensure compliance with department regulations, policies and procedures. The RSC will implement the Department of Developmental and Southeastern Residential Services mission statements.
A criminal background check (CORI) will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired. In addition, Chapter 234 of the Acts of 2014, An Act Requiring National Background Checks, requires the Department of Developmental Services to conduct fingerprint-based check of the state and national criminal history databases on the recommended candidate. ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT.
*Schedule Information: *
Full-Time – 40 hour weekly position on 1st and 2ndshift (Day & Evening Shift)
Working – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Thursday 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Days Off: Friday and Saturday
Flexibility with work schedule will be required.
This position is designated as an “EMERGENCY” Position in the Department of Developmental Service’s Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work.
“This position is in a program that operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform mandatory overtime when circumstances dictate the need.”

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: At least four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in counseling, guidance, teaching, or therapeutic services for individuals with mental retardation, of which at least two years must have been in a supervisory capacity.
A Bachelor's degree with a major in social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services, education of the physically or emotionally handicapped, or education of the multiple handicapped or education of the learning disabled may be substituted for two years of the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience.
A Master's or higher degree in social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services, education of the physically or emotionally handicapped, or education of the multiple handicapped or education of the learning disabled may be substituted for an additional year of the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience.
One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
No substitution will be permitted for the required supervisory experience.
