North American Billing Operations Department Head
The Finance Organization is seeking an experienced operations manager to provide leadership to the North American Billing Operations Department and take an active role in the global billing transformation program. The Billing Operations Department is responsible for client fee configuration, invoicing, platform management, revenue collection and client support for the Global Services, GX, and GM businesses in North America. The transformation program will redesign all aspects of the billing cycle from operating controls and model to technology infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: The role is responsible for direct management of Billing Operations staff in Quincy and oversight responsibilities of support resources in India. The manager is also responsible for managing the technical support and implementation team. In addition to managing direct teams, success in the role will required the ability to build effective relationships and influence across other parts of the organization including supported business units, technology, and other finance areas.
Strategic leadership for the Performance Operations Team:
Build effective relationships across the leadership of the multiple business units supported
Establish and maintain a robust control infrastructure and monitoring processes to ensure high quality services are delivered to internal and external clients
Develop effective service and interaction model with client operations teams to ensure efficient and effective end to end billing cycle
Establish an environment that promotes continual process improvement and define and execute on improvement projects that are focused and deliver impactful results
Ensure effective staff management practices are maintained across all teams including staff feedback and skills development programs
Achieve operational standards for quality and timeliness
Achieve financial targets related to overall budget and contribution to divisional savings programs
Ensure adherence to all Risk, Compliance, and FLOD related responsibilities
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have experienced with managing a dynamic operating environment in the Financial Services industry, preferably with experience in both Finance and client facing capacities, including
A minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience
Excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written), and facilitation skills
Strong strategic thinker, with ability to quickly assess complex problems, prioritize key issues, focus on relevant facts, and design business strategy
Demonstrated experience in collaborating across business and corporate teams
Strong understanding of business application of technology
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build the trust and respect of senior executives
Excellent problem-solving skills
- Candidates must also have a highly developed sense of judgment and the ability to balance business needs in an objective and practical way is critical.
- Candidates must also have a demonstrated ability to motivate employees, build teams and relationships and engender a sense of results-orientation.
Influencing and Partnering Skills
- It is vital that the individual has the proven ability to form constructive relationships with State Street executives and internal support organizations.
