Kelly Services Mechanical Engineering Technician in Norwood, Massachusetts

The Mechanical Technician III supports existing manufacturing processes as required by Manufacturing Engineering manager. The scope of work requires the ability to utilize basic toolroom equipment – belt sander, bench grinder, drill press, cut-off saw and have the ability to use microscope, comparator, micrometer and vernier in a fast paced environment. This position also requires knowledge of AutoCad and ability to read blue prints.

Key Requirements

Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers and associates on the manufacturing floor, assisting in meeting production needs. Improve existing processes and train production associates in new manufacturing processes. Work both independently and as part of a team, report status on a regular basis, and perform other duties which may be assigned. Strong mechanical aptitude, and mechanical assembly skills. Must be a self-starter, willing to learn and keep detailed notes and reports to document his/her work. Pursue new and better methods, tools and techniques to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs. Support and maintain existing production equipment as required and directed. Design fixtures for existing equipment or new processes as required. Requirements: Experienced with mechanical equipment and mechanical assembly skills. Associate degree required or equivalent Manufacturing Production Environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good time management skills with minimal oversight Knowledge of MS Word and Excel a plus
