Responsible for leading a full range of activities which supports the strategic initiatives of the company and ensures the operational effectiveness and excellence of the Commercial Credit Underwriting, Speed Processing, Credit Administration and Loan Operations teams. Responsible for sound credit judgment as a senior member of credit committee

Key Accountabilities:

  • Works with members of Executive Management to implement short and long–range Company goals, objectives and policies. Monitors operational effectiveness and effects changes required for improvement. Develops workable implementation plans. Communicates changes effectively. Builds commitment and overcomes resistance. Prepares and supports an integrated change management approach. Serves on or leads the business Operations Committee and / or its sub-committees in support of key business initiatives. Provides strategic direction to teams that are designed to support strategic goals and key business initiatives. In concert with leadership supports the introduction of new product lines, portfolio acquisitions and new business direction through evaluation of risks, competition, company value proposition and impact on organizational structure. 20%

  • Provides strategic leadership and direction to Credit Underwriting Team, Speed Processing Team and Credit Administration. Working through the AVP-Credit and AVP, Speed Processing and teams in support of the Company’s then in effect Credit Policy, drives credit administration, underwriting, risk assessments and ensures that the team is working collaboratively with Sales and other functional areas in order to meet Companywide business objectives. Serves as a senior member of Credit Committee with significant credit authority as granted by the Credit Policy and approved by the Board of Managers and the Bank’s Risk Committee structure. 20%

  • Provides strategic leadership and direction to the Loan Operations Team. Working through the AVP-Loan Closing and team in support of Company objectives. Is responsible for the strategic direction of loan operations / loan closing such that it is scalable as the business and the group’s role continues to grow and evolve. Insures loan documentation is current and meets the needs of the business. Champion’s system enhancements and work flow process improvements in support of meeting negotiated service level agreements (SLA). 20%

  • Maintains an up-to-date Credit Policy in accordance with the business group needs and within the Banks overall risk tolerance. Ensures that the business as a whole is effectively trained and functioning in accordance with then in effect policy and is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining thereto. Develops a strong partnership and relationship with the parent’s Chief Credit Officer and updates and involves the Chief Credit Officer as required.20%

  • Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience, Advanced degree a plus.

  • Min. 10+ years’ experience with formal credit training or equivalent experience, strong loan documentation and secured transaction experience.
