What You Will Be Doing

The Technical Sales Support Specialist will work cooperatively with outside sales, prospects and clients to help drive new hardware sales.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Supports Account Executives by configuring, quoting hardware, and software/licensing - including registering deals with OEMs, working directly with distribution vendors and handling of customer communication.

Coordinate SOW for system configurations and provides a total solution sale that includes hardware, software, and installation services.

Actively qualifies opportunities for hardware, software and services, identifies opportunities based on customers' needs, and coordinates with sales manager for outside sales distribution

Advises Account Executives, prospects & customers of promotional opportunities and new product announcements including promos, product enhancements, new products, etc.

Support existing clients hardware/software licenses needs and when applicable initiates upsell opportunities by understanding customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features.

Develop and Maintain OEM partner relationships by attending networking events, tradeshows, and OEM provided training.

What You Need for this Position

5+ years of technology sales experience

3+ years in hardware configuration quoting

Experience working with distributors such as TechData, Synnex, IngraMicro

Extensive technical knowledge of HP, Dell, Sonic Wal, Barracuda and other OEMs- networking systems including servers/networking gear/end user devices/wireless technologies/MS Cloud services & licensing

Knowledge of SLED quoting process

Excellent verbal & written communication skills

High level or organizational skills & detail-orientation

Ability to develop and manage productive customer relationships and internal liaisons

Effective time management skills
