Our Vision for this Role

As aSenior Learning & Development Specialist, you are a corner stone of TJX. Talent Development is one of our Global HR Business Priorities, it is critical to our continued success. We are focused on developing core curriculum and accelerating talent to prepare our future leaders!

In this role, you’ll aid in the development and implementation of training solutions across HomeGoods, a fast-growing division with 20,000 Associates (Stores, Distribution and Corporate). Working in a fast-paced retail business, no day will be the same!

You will be assigned a mix of core responsibilities as well as special projects which will equip our business leaders to support our continued growth:

Coursework Development& Implementation

  • Collaboratively develop Learning & Development (L&D) products/programs, specific to client needs and audience development level.

  • Create and execute project plans and maintain project calendars.

  • Design, develop, and implement training materials: instructor guides, learner workbooks, job aids, e-learnings.

  • Lead trainings and facilitate workshops to enhance capability around high potential development.

  • Coach resources in the delivery of workshops and the utilization of tools.

Metrics and Analytics

  • Create and implement the review process for L&D products. Develop evaluation tools that assess effectiveness of the products in meeting clients' needs.

  • Evaluate current products and programs, conduct needs assessments, compile client feedback and prepare reports on findings. Provide recommendations to management.

Logistics

  • Provide guidance and support in the delivery of training products and processes to Human Resource Business Partners. Coordinate assessment administration for class participants as well as pre-work and post-work logistics. Also, classroom training set-up.

  • Oversee execution of training events across field, DCs, and Home Office and provide support and coaching to trainers.

The Skills that will Make You Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Instructural Design or related field with 3+ years’ experience in L&D design of materials, project management, coaching and facilitation.

  • Passion and energy for development, people and building relationships!

  • Knowledge of conducting needs analyses, instructional course design, Adult Learning Theory.

  • Coaching skills, including the ability to give positive and construction feedback.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible environment; did we mention? No day is the same!

  • Deep listening and inquiry; seeks to understand and make connections which result in engaging interactions.

  • The ability to build and maintain relationships and the ability to influence others without authority.

  • A self-director who can manage their own timelines and set priorities.

  • Critical thinking and problem solving; the ability to assess situations and provide alternate solutions.
