Cardinal Health Senior Principal Packaging Engineer in Mansfield, Massachusetts
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Performance Management for a team of Packaging Engineers; proving technical guidance and support, Develop and track Individual Development Plans and Performance Reviews. Assure adherence of all corporate/plant policies. (Attendance, T&E, Safety, etc.)Support the development of the annual department expense budgets.Package development and qualification of innovative packaging processes and designs as part of a cross functional new product development and sustaining engineering teams.Lead and support Quality and Regulatory remediation projects.Identify, lead and support packaging cost reduction or process improvements opportunities.Provide manufacturing support and expert services to various manufacturing facilities and contract manufacturers. These services to include troubleshooting, upgrade recommendations, process or package design optimization.Provideguidance and assure compliance to packagingQuality and Regulatory standards thrufrequent interaction with project teams, manufacturing facilities, and contract manufacturers.Lead or assist new packaging equipment procurement process; generating user requirement specifications, factory acceptance test and validation of new packaging equipment.Support change control process by reviewing, creating, or updating packaging specifications and documentation.Lead continuous improvement projects within the Packaging department.Provide work direction to lab technicians as required.Travel (25 – 40%) will be required to include international travel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor of Science in Packaging Engineering or other Engineering discipline.
A minimum of 10 yrs of experience with Medical Device Manufacturing and Packaging operations. Working knowledge of packaging industry standards and regulations.
6-sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, Ability to prepare written policies, procedures, proposals and reports
Highly developed project management skills including formalized methodologies, highly polished written and verbal communication skills, and strong business acumen.
Strong team and interpersonal skills, Results oriented and a strong customer focus. Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently (self-directed
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE :
Lead team of packaging engineers that support all packaging functions of the Global Business Unit. Responsible for the management, training, and administration of these individuals in the performance of assigned projects. Responsible for the achievement of project goals to include project budget (when applicable), timeline, and operational considerations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles (below permissible OSHA exposure level), and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Must be able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing 50 lbs. or more. (5% of time)
