Randstad Professionals is working with a rapidly growing Consumer Goods company based in Lynnfield, in need for immediate support for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join their team for a 4-6 month project. As the Senior Procurement Specialist, you should have strong negotiating skills, Advanced MS Excel Skills, experience working with large ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle. A manufacturing background would be strongly preferred for this Senior Procurement Specialist role as well. The contract pay for this project would range from $50/hour depending on experience. Manage assigned categories and work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure company-wide sourcing strategies and objectives are met. Develop and execute supply strategies under the direction of the Sr. Corporate Procurement Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proven expertise in developing and managing strategic sourcing ingredient or similar categories.
Build, manage and maintain strong, positive relationships with coworkers, business partners and suppliers.
Create, administer and manage RFx process including but not limited to RFx review and analysis, vendor evaluation and supplier awards.
Experienced in negotiating price agreements and contracts and ensure compliance with internal policies and Legal Department.
Deep understanding and professional experience with Purchasing Contracts
Develop new supply chain sources for high risk or items with global or domestic limited supply
Recommend and lead alternate sourcing projects with appropriate departments.
Accurately prepare and communicate monthly price changes to Cost Department/Sales Support in a timely manner.
Responsible for $40mm plus annual spend.
Special Projects as assigned.
Determine, recommend, and implement cost savings initiatives and opportunities.
Represent Corporate Procurement on various teams and projects.
Serve as mentor to and train buyers as needed.
Monitor appropriate markets.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business with 8+ years of experience in related field.
8+ years of experience preferably in a food manufacturing or CPG industry.
Preference given to those with Procurement Certifications.
Experience in category and supplier management preferred.
Working knowledge of ERP, Spend Analysis and Procure to Pay software systems.
Extensive working knowledge of online sourcing software for RFI's, RFX's, RFP's and RFQ's etc. such as Determine, Ariba, ProcureWare, SAP Sourcing, etc.
Demonstrated experience in drafting, editing and evaluating RFx's.
