Staples Business Development Executive - Refreshment Services in Framingham, Massachusetts

The Breakroom Solutions Executive will be responsible for driving growth and expanding Staples customer base through acquiring customer acquisition. Responsible for hunting prospective customers, developing relationships, and executing a strategy to hyper-grow Staples Breakroom business through converting prospects to signed customer agreements.

You will leverage your sales expertise, industry knowledge, and interpersonal skills to develop partnerships with key stakeholders and decision makers. BDMs are also responsible for ramping net-new won customers to maximize Share of Wallet. BDMs have detailed knowledge of products and solutions and are consultative selling partners to our customers. This is a strategic selling position, expected to engage contacts daily face to face and virtually by phone, video, and utilizing digital tools.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acquire a significant number of net new Breakroom customers by hunting within assigned territory.

  • Understanding of Staples Breakroom agreement

  • Manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress, and continuously updating CRM to ensure timely follow up and closure of deals.

  • Proactively work to identify, qualify, and engage prospective customers.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities and market data.

  • Collaborates with Revenue Management Team to make discretionary pricing decisions based on knowledge of competitor spend, account servicing needs, and assessment of future spend commitments.

  • Partner with Sales Operations to ensure customer is ramped and onboarded.

  • Collaborates with internal resources such as support teams, account executives and category experts to meet customer needs and seamless onboarding.

  • Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations virtually and in person

  • Consultative selling, solutions selling, insight selling, negotiation and advanced client management skills

  • Ability to work with product category sales team members

  • Strong business, financial, operations and technology acumen

  • Ability to analyze business and industry trends to create tailored solutions for prospects based upon Staples value proposition

  • Ability to function independently with minimal daily supervision

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 3+ years successful prospecting experience

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience and proven track record of business development

  • Proficiency, in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

  • Industry knowledge

  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM)
