Make an impact on your community and the lives of others by providing extrusion engineering and program management leadership in the concept, prototyping, clinical evaluation, process/equipment development and production scale up of new products and components.
Use your passion for engineering to substantially advance the technical skills and competencies of the extrusion engineering organization.
You will provide engineering leadership in management of product transfers from RD to manufacturing:
from internal Danvers RD to internal Danvers manufacturing, or
from outside facilities to internal manufacturing in Massachusetts, or
from current manufacturing to outsourced manufacturing vendors.
You will also provide engineering leadership for:
scale up of component manufacturing for other businesses within Medtronic.
development and scale up of low cost manufacturing for legacy product lines.
Your team will define equipment, process, material and operator specifications for manufacturing.
A Day in the Life
You will be in a project leadership and management role that
defines and completes operations based projects based on Annual Operating Plan goals and objectives.
developed manufacturing Processes that will reduce operating costs, reduce labor, reduce product variability, increase yields and improve the potential of product line transfers to outsource vendors.
forecasts the impact of potential changes. Be aware of cultural, historical, and systemic obstacles that will limit the ability to effectively implement change, and work to overcome them.
conducts team meetings and Design Reviews in conjunction with assigned projects and in accordance with prescribed policies and guidelines.
evaluates proposed designs and processes for manufacturability with associated recommendations for improvements.
Must Haves - Minimum Requirements
BS in Engineering
•9+ years with BS
•7+ years with MS
Experience in medical device extrusion
Nice to Have
Medical Device Experience
Knowledge of DOE, SPC, FMEA, GMP, ISO
Knowledge of Statistical Software and Practices
Knowledge of Materials and Related Processes
Excellent verbal communication, problem solving and technical Writing skills
AutoCAD or Solid Works Proficiency
