In this role, you would be working hands on with extrusion equipment, which demands constant cleaning, preventative maintenance, and daily upkeep. If you have an ambitious attitude with the desire to learn the extrusion process and contribute to the well functioning, compliant operation of the equipment, this job could be for you.
A Day in the Life
You will be part of a team whose responsibilities include:
•Line Equipment Operation - The operator will run the line for development and product runs as well as provide shift relief. The individual will also be acquainted with off-line auxiliary equipment and instrumentation.
•Tooling and Area Upkeep - Cleaning and organization of extrusion tooling, general cleaning of extrusion equipment, and maintaining a clean work area.
•Material Handling - Resin mixing and blending, raw material inventory, hopper loading and unloading, off-line inspection.
•Preventative Maintenance - Periodic scheduled maintenance of primary and auxiliary equipment including, but not limited to: alcohol wiping of all metal contact surfaces, filter cleaning and replacement, chassis lubrication, chiller media flush and fill, etc.
Must Haves - Minimum Requirements
•High School Diploma or GeD
•1-3 years of primary plastics processing experience is a requisite of the position.
Nice to Have
•Product specific training will be provided on the job. Ability to make rational decisions and contribute to the team’s function.
•Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control will be required as a foundation. A commitment to continual improvement of a World Class Manufacturing operation is essential
•Ability to operate electrical and electronic controls.
•PC skills, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Vocational or post-secondary technical education in a machinist, mechanical, electrical trade or equivalent.
