We are a national transportation infrastructure firm that offers extensive design, engineering and planning services to federal, state and local public and private clients. HNTB's talented and dedicated professionals provide design and planning expertise that exceeds expectations. We are seeking a Track Design Engineer in our Rail Systems Group located in Chelmsford, MA.
Assisting in preparation of design documents for trackwork, including alignments, specifications, criteria, and details.
Supporting the Project Manager in all aspects of the project including negotiating extras, cost control, staffing and quality control
Assisting in preparation of proposals and contracts
Assisting in actively managing the project budget, schedule and program
Project communications and documentation.
Satisfying client requirements and expectations
Coordinating work efforts with others
Reviewing work performed to maintain quality of the deliverables needed
Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering
E.I.T Certification required
2 or more years of experience in track design with an emphasis on railway, commuter, and transit projects
Experience working in a consulting firm or authority
Experience with Microstation and/or AutoCadd
Environment and Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally.
