Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking a Civil CAD Designer to join our Chelmsford, MA office. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 6 years’ experience, preferably in one or more of the following: civil site and remedial design services. The ideal candidate will be familiar with applicable industry computer design programs including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ArcGIS. An Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical degree is required.

Key Responsibilities
The individual will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, and designers on civil site and remedial design projects with an emphasis on engineering design and plan production. Projects include civil site plans and site remediation plans.

•Work within multidiscipline design teams on wide variety of civil, civil / environmental and A / E projects, including site development, infrastructure, landfills, stream restoration, soil and groundwater remediation
•Civil CAD / Design and CAD support relative to grading, infrastructure and stormwater design
•Understanding of erosion and sediment control and stormwater design
•Develop surface models, pipe networks and earthwork quantities using AutoCAD Civil3D
•Preparation of civil / environmental engineering construction and permitting drawings
•Proficient in AutoCAD 2015 and Civil 3D 2015 or later
•Ability to use ArcGIS preferred but not required
•Ability to use MicroStation preferred but not required
•Proven experience in plan production and design for building design projects
•Ability to be flexible in daily duties and level of responsibility encompassing redlining as well as leading plan production efforts
•Drawing production and engineering support of documents for local, state and federal permits
•Interact with coworkers, project teams and coordination with remote offices
•Implementation of National CAD Standards or varying client CAD standards

Skills / Qualifications
•Associate Degree or equivalent technical degree
•6 years of related design experience
•Demonstrated consistency, attention to detail and organizational abilities
•Strong work ethic and flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, if required
•Conduct work in a professional and ethical manner
•Implementation of National CAD Standards or varying client CAD standards
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Strong computer skills and understanding of outlined programs
•Strong work ethic
•Must pass drug screen, physical, background check and must have satisfactory driving record in accordance with Company’s driving (MVR) policy
