About the Job

The Senior FP&A Business Analyst will be tasked with the ongoing analysis and strategy of all aspects associated with Human Resource programs and investments. This job will be responsible for understanding Akamai HR programs to determine their impact on the organization and achievement of programmatic goals. This will require proactive and on-demand analysis that enables business leaders to make data-driven decisions about resource investments (people, budget, and time). You will be a trusted partner of HR leadership enabling both quantitative and qualitative insights that are actionable and results driven.

About the Team

The Senior FP&A Business Analyst will be a member of the FP&A team and will partner very closely with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Consult and advise program and/or budget owners on opportunities to enhance and improve program results including changes to program design, operations, and investments

  • Work closely with HR’s Finance Business Partner and our People Analytics team to build and manage fiscal management reporting including, but not limited to, budget-to-actuals, spend forecasts, operating plans, etc.

  • Measure and report on program effectiveness based on analysis of various inputs including investments of people, money, perceived value/utilization, and business outcomes/impact.

  • Collaborate with HR leadership to understand their program strategy

  • Consult with HR leadership and the business to define concerns, gather data, draw conclusions and make recommendations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to develop and implement improved reporting and data workflows and processes

  • Work with HR Leaders to support their adherence to budget up to and including the shift or elimination of planned spend; taking into consideration corresponding implications and minimizing overall risk

  • Educate HR stakeholders on fiscal management and cost/investment efficacy

Required Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience and a BS/BA degree or 6 years’ experience with advanced degree. Experience should include financial and strategic analysis and business partnering

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and fiscal management principles

  • Thorough software knowledge of MS Access, Excel, and enterprise system reporting

  • Experience working and communicating with senior leaders (Director level and above)

  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and influencing skills

  • Ability to quickly gauge (real-time) your audience and adjust your approach and message

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a Finance Discipline

  • Direct experience with financial reporting

  • Budget ownership experience

  • Thorough knowledge of Oracle R12, Taleo, and Smartsheets

  • Change management and program (continuous) improvement success
