HarborOne Bank Retail Financial Analyst in Brockton, Massachusetts

Under the direction of the SVP Retail, responsible for analyzing financial and other data and preparing financial reports for the Retail Division.

Prepare monthly business reports/profitability analyses for the division and its lines of business.

Perform special project financial analyses, with special emphasis on providing pricing and profitability analyses on products as well as expense analyses.

Perform work involving data collection, analysis, forecasting and compiling/creating reports.

Participate in the Division's strategy and pricing meetings.

Oversee the Division's annual budget process and reviews. Explain monthly variances.

Assist in developing key metrics, drivers and diagnostics.

Coordinate with departments to ensure receipt of desired information.

Prepare forecasts and support the development of the strategic plan.

Participate in final decision processes that have a direct and relevant impact on departmental, business unit and/or companywide financial management.

Develop and/or work with business unit leaders to create and verify pro-formas of profitability for new initiative. Monitor the performance of new initiative by comparing actual results to plan on a monthly basis. Document, in writing, progress against plan and reasons for variance.

Analyze different line of businesses in order to pinpoint areas of improvements and recommend profitability enhancements.

Coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trends and future requirements and operating forecasts.

Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

COMPLIANCE: Maintain an excellent understanding of applicable regulations and laws including but not limited to; Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; and Fair Lending.

Maintain an up to date understanding of bank policies and procedures as they relate to compliance.

Complete appropriate compliance training.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or finance. MBA preferred and a minimum of 2 years of financial analysis experience with previous retail banking experience. For example calculating return on assets; yields and trend analysis.

OTHER SKILLS:

Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets and word processing required; including advanced Excel skills and intermediate Word, PowerPoint, and Access skills; with particular focus on financial modeling and the use of advanced features of spreadsheets including writing logic functions/formulas (this will come in handy with MCIF and when doing P&Ls and proformas). Experience with Adobe PDF a plus.

Highly organized and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to change priorities quickly. High level of analytical ability and accuracy. Ability to manipulate data across multiple platforms. Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Knowledge of external data sources (FDIC, FHLB, WSJ, etc.). MCIF experience a plus. Excellent analytical and verbal/written communication skills with the ability to work with multiple departments on projects. Motivated to work on additional, unrequested projects i.e. following leads.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Excellent understanding of accounting concepts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
