The Senior Manager, Quality Reporting provides expertise and management of the planning, implementation, and evaluation of reporting for external and high-priority internal quality measurement programs at Dana-Farber. This includes understanding and monitoring relevant policy and regulation; conducting gap analyses and educating DFCI leadership and staff; identifying, aggregating and analyzing data; and communicating and coordinating with national and state agencies.

The Senior Manager, Quality Reporting leads the analysis of existing department and organizational processes and the design and implementation of the future state for strategic change initiatives, contributes to building sustainable infrastructures, processes and systems that increase efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Analyzes and organizes complex qualitative and quantitative clinical, financial and administrative data from multiple sources, and synthesizes results into meaningful reports and presentations on a regular basis for key stakeholder groups.

  • Assess, organize and develop an implementation plan for Institute data and programmatic requirements that are needed to meet federal and state mandates for QI reporting pursuant to PCHQR, Meaningful Use and MIPS program, MassHEALTH, Mass DPH, CHIA and other programs.

  • Management and oversight of content regarding the quality and safety of medical staff departments/services reporting to the Medical Staff Executive Committee, to ensure that MSEC is meeting regulatory requirements; that standards for the quality of the presentations are set and met; and that data accurately and appropriately reflect care provided in the DFCI.

  • Provide high level coordination of the programs, departments, and services that report into DFCI governance committees. Ensure that this process is in regulatory compliance, effective and efficient, and complete.

  • Manages DFCI patient satisfaction survey efforts including survey design, sub group design and sampling selection as well as results analysis and dissemination. All state and federally required CAHPS and experience outputs are managed and organized as an extension of this work.

  • Provides project management of quality and performance measurement initiatives under direction of the Vice President Quality and Patient Safety. Identifies major phases, implementation sub-steps, key stakeholders, timelines, resource needs, and potential obstacles for each project. Utilizes standard project management tools and summary documents to track and communicate status of projects.

  • Represents DFCI quality and safety department on internal and external committees or task forces as needed. Including but not limited to work for and with Partners committees, C4QI, ADCC Quality Committee, and the CMS PCHQR workgroup.

  • Oversee quality data infrastructure related to the responsibilities above. Presents key metrics and results to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Interacts frequently with senior leaders, staff, and other clinical staff to facilitate discussions with these stakeholders regarding existing data, reports, and analyses and assesses unmet needs and potential system enhancements.

  • Performs all other related duties as required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in a healthcare organization, preferably in a related analytic / QI position.

  • Knowledge of current issues in the healthcare environment, particularly regarding quality measurement, health care policy, clinical regulatory compliance, and patient safety.

  • Knowledge of and experience with readiness pertaining to state and federal reporting requirements and rule making processes.

  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience.

  • Data management and information system experience.

  • Proficiency in IBM PC systems and applications including MS Office, Contribute and other database management software. Knowledge of incident reporting systems, clinical databases, electronic health records (EPIC, Powerchart), business intelligence systems (Microstrategy, CORIS Business Objects), and federal/ state reporting and management systems (QNET, CDC/NHSN portal, RQRS, MASSQEX), preferred.

  • Background in and/or knowledge pertaining to Oncology preferable.
