TheMassachusetts Office of Business Developmentis committed to ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees feel respected, valued, and empowered to maximize their skills and talents to serve our citizens. _About the Role:_ The Regional Director is responsible to effectuate the Massachusetts Office of Business Development’s objective to help businesses and entrepreneurs to relocate or expand their operations in the Commonwealth. The Regional Director serves as a single point of contact for the regional office of the state's economic development agency, serving multiple communities in the designated region. The Regional Director is focused on promoting private investment and job growth by assisting companies to navigate and access the technical, human, financial, training, educational, and site-finding resources within the Commonwealth. _Duties and Responsibilites:_ *(these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive): * Business outreach – generate leads and identify opportunities to successfully assist businesses to create, maintain, and relocate jobs to Massachusetts. * Economic Development Incentive Program ("EDIP") coordination with applicants, municipalities and paperwork. * Develop, manage, coordinate and monitor the state's overall regional economic development efforts with meetings with municipalities and business partners including conferences/seminars. * Administrative work including updating Salesforce.com on a daily basis, briefings, weekly reports, travel. * Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: * Excellent verbal and writing skills. * Proficient at public speaking. * Ability to interact with business professionals at all levels. * Excellent project management skills. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team skills. * Ability to cultivate and maintain strong working knowledge of all partner organizations within the state’s economic development organizations and the resources and services which they provide * Ability to create customized economic development proposals for businesses and the ability to present them to senior level management. * Ability to generate leads, identify opportunities, and successfully manage projects through closure. * Have an understanding of performance management and be able to report on various metrics around job creation, job retention, and private investment dollars. * Sales, sales management, or marketing experience. _ All applicants should attach a cover letter and resume to their online submission for this position._ MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least one (1) year must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required (A) experience. II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (A) experience. III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required (A) experience. IV.
