Basic qualifications:Bachelor's Degree.

0-2 years of outside Pharmaceutical/Healthcare or Consumer sales experience with territory and account management or Medical/Hygiene degree or other sales experience

Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record required.

Must be able and willing to safely operate a motor vehicle in accordance with GSK policies and applicable driving rules and regulations. Driving a motor vehicle is an essential function of the job that the sales professional must perform personally

Please note that this territory includes Springfield, MA, Boston, MA, Bronx, NY,and North Parts of New Jersey. Ideally a candidate could reside in Hartford, CT area but there are no specific customer targets in CT. Customers are based in MA, NY, and NJ for this role.

Please also note that there will be up to 40% regional travel required including the possibility of some overnight visits.

Preferred qualifications:A successful track record with previous positions demonstrating leadership.

Entrepreneurial spirit, high learning agility, judgment and decision making, effective communication skills and resilience in a sales environment.

Competency using Call Reporting software preferred. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail (Outlook) required.

Job Overview:

Effectively use GSK product knowledge and business and promotional plans to achieve sales objectives.

Use current knowledge of competitors' products and promotions to more effectively position GSK products with customers.

Skilled in identifying & clarifying customer needs & expectations

Demonstrate effective sales skills as indicated by preparation and organization of the sales call, account development, personal rapport, fact/ based (key message) selling, use of promotional materials, and customer commitment to GSK products.

Assurance of confidentiality of proprietary information

Ability to develop strategic business plans & growth strategy for assigned accounts/markets/territories; (Manage an enterprise using entrepreneurial thinking and execution

Focus on priority products and customer segments.

Desire to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Demonstrate knowledge of customers within the territory, including such factors as recommendation, prescribing patterns and purchasing habits.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and profiles via Call Report software.

Effectively manage a territory budget

Effectively analyze, plan, and execute a business strategy for the territory

Communicates with Division Manager as required
