The “Finance First Line of Defense (FLOD) Office” is a recently developed function that is focused on implementing and managing the Finance FLOD program and its on-going development into a BAU state. Your role within the team will give you direct interaction with the various Finance Business Units (BUs) as part of the program’s risk assessment, control development, and monitoring/enhancement phases. You will also assist with periodic reporting requirements, on-going issues management, and other special projects within the team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help establish and drive Finance efforts to meet the established Corporate timelines and implementation plan, through leadership and coordination of first line priorities and activities across Finance

  • Focus on first line risk management, including but not limited to risk ratings, (where applicable), validating controls with the business, evaluating control design, and issues management

  • Actively support and update the implementation schedule, oversight, and maintaining the risk management framework as the project moves into BAU state

  • Take responsibility, and be accountable to management, for appropriately managing risks associated with the first line of defense’s activities

  • Maintain effective risk and control management programs

  • Support and build out BAU processes, self-identify risk and compliance issues, analyze root causes, and implement timely corrective actions

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required); Master’s degree

  • 3+ years of related experience in Internal Control Design

  • Understanding of the relationship between risks and related controls, along with appropriate control design within a Finance capacity

  • Experience in process mapping and control methodologies

  • Independent development and execution of controls testing

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the Finance industry

  • Management and leadership skills

  • Communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong skills across MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ect.)
