  • This is a highly visible and senior role on the East | West Product and Pricing team in Global Consumer Markets (GCM) Product Management. With over $20 billion in revenue, GCM is the largest Strategic Business Unit at Liberty Mutual. *

In this role, you will be a key member of the GCM East | West product management team. You will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction of your product line, either Small Commercial or Accident and Health, and accountable for developing and executing the multi-year business plan to achieve growth aspirations and maintain target profitability. You will be accountable for monitoring, directing, and influencing all aspects of product performance, all while working with the local operations to further the goals of this exciting line of business. Additionally, you will be responsible for assigning and prioritizing work for a pooled set of analytical resources to: develop and implement all pricing and underwriting programs for your product; identify and respond to changes in the market and competitive positioning; and drive aligned actions across Marketing, Distribution, Underwriting, and Claims. With nearly $1 billion in written premium, the continued opportunity for Small Commercial and Personal Accident and Health is to drive above-average growth while maintaining or even improving the profitability of this line of business across the 16 GCM East | West countries.

  • Responsibilities: *

  • Develop product strategy and action plan to achieve accelerated growth objectives that will span across the 16 GCM East | West countries.

  • Build annual product plan and hold direct accountability for financial performance.

  • Determine appropriate pricing and program structure to achieve product goals.

  • Design and execute product rate plan and country-level enhancements in partnership with the local country operations.

  • Monitor the market places and identify competitor and industry changes impacting effectiveness or compliance of current and proposed programs.

  • Collaborate with various local functional departments to maximize the effectiveness of programs and drive cross-functional alignment and engagement in initiatives supporting small commercial product objectives.

  • Analyze complex reports and work with management team to implement appropriate changes in pricing position, underwriting standards, sales growth, and claims handling.

  • Lead decisions regarding growth strategies through the integration of the marketing, sales, services, underwriting and pricing functions.

  • Qualifications: *

  • Highly developed quantitative analysis and decision making skills

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems, consistent with a deep understanding of the strategic direction of the business

  • Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and teamwork skills required

  • Candidates should have an MBA/advanced degree or equivalent professional experience in areas such as management consulting, strategy, project management, or corporate development .

  • Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, influencing and leadership skills.

  • Highly developed quantitative analysis and project management experience.

  • 10 years progressively responsible work experience required with previous experience in consulting, management, or insurance product management or financial services preferred.
