Department Description: nullJob Location: Boston, MAReq ID: 20644BRJob Summary: Oversees and directs the Clinical Psychology Predoctoral Internship Program, psychology practicum training, and postdoctoral psychology training.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Directs educational and clinical activities; provides supervision of and guidance to trainees affiliated with the program from an educational and clinical perspective.

  • Maintains the internship program's accreditation by the American Psychological Association's Commission on Accreditation, the internship's membership in and adherence to the regulations of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers, and the requirements of the Department of Mental Health training grant.

  • Works independently as well as collaborates with other staff members to complete projects and guide training.

  • Remains current in field advancements and participates in improving operations of the program; recommends and implements changes as needed.

  • Leads internship application process, reviews applications to evaluate eligibility and selects final candidates.

  • Has the authority to direct and support employees daily work activities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. Direct Reports: More than 7 Indirect Reports: None

  • Has full responsibility for planning, monitoring and managing department budget.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology required.

  • 5-8 years related work experience required and 1-3 years supervisory/management experience required

  • Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Massachusetts as a Psychologist.

  • Must be a graduate of an APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral program and must have completed an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Internship.

  • At least five years of related experience including teaching experience and supervision of psychology interns.

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

  • Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate broad and comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas.

  • Team Work: Ability to lead collaborative teams for larger projects or groups both internal and external to the Medical Center and across functional areas. Results have implications for the management and operations of multiple areas of the organization.

  • Customer Service: Ability to lead operational initiatives to meet or exceed customer service standards and expectations in assigned unit(s) and/or across multiple areas in a timely and respectful manner.

Physical Nature of the Job:
