The CIB On-boarding utility strategy envisages the creation of a global operating model based across Mumbai and Manila, connected to client facing teams based in Sydney, HK, Brooklyn, Boston, London and Edinburgh. The utility will provide technical expertise to support highly complex and sensitive structural events that occur within our clients fund products (Fund Events) and provide the operational capability to on-board new clients into the Custody and Fund services Operating models and accounting technology. The global footprint of this operating model is designed to provide follow the sun coverage. The utility will be built through a series of operational and technology milestones alongside actual Custody and Fund Services on-boardings through the next 18-24 months.
This role provides an opportunity to be part of the initial management team who will have a stake and opportunity to design and drive the model. The success of this strategy will have a significant impact and be visible at senior level of the CFS business. The utility is currently in start up mode within the Traditional Fund Services but will grow to a Cross CIB Operation of more than 100 professional’s worldwide, leveraging global workflow and consistent technology toolset. As it matures we will be looking for synergies across custody on-boarding and client account and ref data operations to improve our e2e capability in this discipline.
This position is for an experienced Business Analyst to drive the process and business reviews necessary to re-engineer the current capability and technology available to the global utility and technology envisaged for this function. The position will also be required to guide and support the management team through its execution plans and implementation phases. Including interviewing senior stakeholders, organising senior workshops and strategic forums, detailing and understanding business functions and process flows, performing detailed data analysis, and agreeing and communicating recommendations and implementation plans with the business. This will require partnership with representatives from across the organisation including Business, Operations and Technology groups.
The position will work alongside the senior operations managers responsible for Fund events and client on-boarding in each location.
Specifically the role will:
Workclosely with functions across J. P. Morgan CIB operations globally and CAOpartners to define the current process, system and organizational landscape,key pain points and opportunities for cost and efficiency savings
Work withTechnology and Operation organisations to analyse the current operating modeland define the target business operating model
Elicit andanalyse data to identify trends and areas of opportunity to help supportrecommendations
Developand document of business flows, benchmarking against firm wide operating models
Influencekey stakeholders to support business reviews, and strategic recommendations
Developbusiness cases for senior management review
Communicateregular status updates to senior management within the Business
SupportOperations Management in developing efficiency, quality, risk and capacitymetrics to allow for process and service improvements across the model globally
We are looking for a motivated, high performing individual with experience in either an Operations or Technology based environment within the financial services industry.
Workingbusiness knowledge of one or more areas of a Corporate and Investment bank witha good understanding of the Custody and Fund services business and itsoperating models would be a great advantage
Strongknowledge and experience of business architecture and enterprise architectureincluding development of Business Models and Target Business Operating modelsdeployed on large scale organisations
Previousexperience of strategic programs from an Investment Bank, Corporate Bank orManagement Consultancy background desirable
Expertisein data analysis and manipulation to support hypothesis generation
Proficiencyin running interviews, workshops and designforums
Proficiencyin Excel and ability to clearly storyboard using PowerPoint is essential
Partnerswell with other groups outside of the team’s reporting line; excellent interpersonal skills
Ability tocommunicate clearly and confidently across multiple aspects of the organizationat all levels; confidence in communicating withmanagement
