As a member of the Corporate Finance team, the Controller for our Construction Subsidiary will manage and participate in the month-end financial review and closing for the CDM Constructors (CCI) business unit. This includes working with the business unit financial team to ensure accurate revenue recognition, operating expense analysis and account reconciliations.
Manages and participates in the annual audit of the CCI business unit. This includes working closely with external auditors (PWC) during the interim audit and during year end field work. Provides completed account analysis and reconciliations as required and communicates with the auditors directly.
Manages a staff of 2 accountants to complete required account analysis and reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts. Reviews and monitors activity in these accounts monthly.
Works with BU financial lead to prepare and consolidate the annual operating budget for the CCI business unit.
Manages day to day activity of accounting staff. Provides feedback on performance appraisals. Manages the development and training of staff. Approves paid time off requests (PTO) and ensures human resources policies are followed.
Performs other duties as required.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent field.
Experience: 8 years of related accounting, finance or equivalent experience including at least 1 year managing special projects or supervisory experience.
